Oil Derivatives Prices Rise in Jordan


(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) Jordan government's oil pricing committee said on Tuesday it was increasing the prices of fuel derivatives by 2% to 3% as oil prices soared in the global market. The price hike, announced by Minister of Trade, Industry and Supply Hatem Halawani, will be effective from January 1 and will last for one month, according to Jordan news agency (Petra) According to the new price table, gasoline octane-90 will rise by about 2% from JD 0.81 to JD 0.83, while gasoline octane-95 will go up by 3% from JD 0.98 to JD 1.01, kerosene and diesel will be up from JD 0.67 to JD 0.685. The price of cooking gas will remain JD 10 per a 12.5-kg cylinder. The pricing committee has been tasked with defining monthly fuel prices since late 2012 when the government lifted subsidies on oil derivatives.
