(MENAFN - Arab News) The police have arrested a citizen in his 20s for assaulting two policemen with a cleaver on Monday night.


Yanbu Gov. Musaid Al-Saleem visited the policemen at their offices to check on their health and thanked them for their good work.
Security patrols in Yanbu had earlier arrested the assailant who assaulted the captain and sergeant

One officer sustained a partial cut in the neck requiring six stitches, while the other officer needed seven stitches for a cut to his hand.

Fahd Al-Ghannam, spokesman for the Madinah Police Department, said that members of a security patrol in Yanbu tried to restrain the citizen who was assaulting another with a cleaver


The police asked the man to drop the weapon, but he refused

He then attacked the two officers.
