Kuwait- Expat Wins KD 22,000 Comp In Traffic Mishap


(MENAFN- Arab Times) The Commercial Circle within the Court of Appeals ordered an insurance company to pay a compensation of KD 22,000 to an expatriate who sustained 20 percent injuries all over his body due to a traffic accident. According to the case files, the plaintiff met with an accident while he was driving a vehicle that was insured by the company. During the court session, Attorney Saud Al-Shimmari stressed that his client suffered from material losses due to huge expenditures for his treatment. He provided the court with official documents to prove the expenditures spent for his client's treatment in more than one private hospital, insisting that the accident had a negative physical and psychological impact on the his client. Earlier, the Court of First Instance had ordered the company to pay KD 2,000 as compensation for the plaintiff's injuries, KD 5,000 as material compensation and KD 5,000 as psychological compensation. However, the verdict was not in line with what the plaintiff expected because of which the appeal was submitted against the verdict.
