503 found working illegally in Oman's fisheries sector


(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) As many as 503 illegal workers were found working in the fisheries sector.

This was revealed during inspections carried by the Ministry of Manpower (MoM) in fishing areas of Dhofar and Al Wusta on Tuesday.

The campaign which was carried out in collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries, ROP, Public Prosecution and other security agencies, covered fishing areas in Al Shuwaimiyah and Sharbathat in the wilayat of Shalim in Dhofar and Ras Madrakah, Sarab and Khalouf in Al Wusta.

Salim al Badi, director general of Labour Welfare in the Ministry of Manpower said that the campaign focused on the fishing areas in order to protect jobs of nationals in the fisheries sector.
