Saudi - SEC signs 5 contracts worth $3bn

(MENAFN - Arab News) Saudi Electricity Company on Monday signed five contracts worth SR3.03 billion to construct two transformers and 380KV supply lines as part of its efforts to meet the country's growing power requirements. Ali bin Saleh Al-Barrak, CEO of the company, said the two transformers would be established in Hail and Jaeema (Eastern Province). He said the two plants would supply 1,520MW when completed in 28 months. Al-Barrak said the three supply lines would link the power generating plants in Rabigh, Yanbu and Madinah, adding that work on the three contracts would be completed in 29 months.
