Sharjah Media Corporation organises blood donation campaign

(MENAFNEditorial) As part of its efforts to support blood donation campaigns in the country, Sharjah Media Corporation (SMC) concluded its 2013 activities with a blood donation campaign that was organised in collaboration with the Sharjah Blood Transfusion and Research Centre (SBTRC). The campaign took place near the entry gate of the corporation from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm. The fully equipped medical vehicle sent from SBTRC received a large number of SMC's employees from different departments and branches who received the necessary assistance and medical advice from the well-trained medical team. Speaking on the occasion, Mohammed Ibrahim Almoaini, Deputy Marketing and Communication Manager at SMC, said: "This campaign is part of the corporation endeavours to support voluntary blood donation programmes across the country. The response to this initiative was positive among our employees. We are pleased to support such schemes in the light of the general national directions toward supporting humanitarian initiatives and we thank all the efforts that contributed to making this campaign a success. We are always ready to take part in supporting worthy humanitarian causes." Volunteers from SMC who took part in the campaign highly appreciated the initiative which is in line with humanitarian values that promote social solidarity. They said blood donation helps ease the financial burden on patients and at the same time it is beneficial to the donor. The Sharjah Media Corporation (SMC) has recently concluded a large-scale diabetes campaign, launched as part of national efforts to mark World Diabetes Day celebrated worldwide every year on November 14. The campaign saw intensive participation by SMC's various departments, sections, and staff.
