(MENAFN - Arab News) The Ministry of Health and Jeddah Health Affairs department have jointly launched an intensive campaign against dengue fever with the aim of raising awareness on precautionary measures to be taken and treatment for the disease.
The campaign was launched across Jeddah in various malls and public places on Thursday.
Mohammed Ahmed, a volunteer working with the Health Affairs Department, told Arab News that they installed many booths within malls to distribute brochures and information about the disease in both the English and Arabic languages.
The brochures contain information about the disease, its symptoms, means of prevention and how to avoid situations that can lead to mosquito breeding.
Every year around December, the rain season commences and the fear of dengue fever increases as temperature conditions and water ponds create a suitable environment for mosquito breeding.
