Omanis abducted in Lebanon released


(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) The two Omanis who were abducted in Lebanon on Thursday have been released and are currently at the sultanate's embassy in Beirut, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) said in a statement on Sunday.

It said that the sultanate, represented by MoFA and its embassy in Beirut, thanks Lebanese President Michel Sleiman, Prime Minister Najib Mikati, speaker of Parliament Nabih Berri and all government and security units for their efforts in securing release of the two Omanis.

Local media reports said that five gunmen had kidnapped the two at a roadblock in a village near Baalbek, 85 km northeast of Beirut.
