Etisalat Promotions Lead to More Than 50 Per Cent Tariff Reduction for Mobile Users

(MENAFNEditorial) Etisalat, the UAE's leading telecommunication services provider, has announced more than 44 offers in the UAE market in 2013, which has helped to reduce tariffs for pre- and postpaid customers by more than 50 per cent. The majority of Etisalat's offers in 2013 catered for the more demanding consumer sector with diverse offerings extending from standalone plans to bundles of exclusive devices and plans. Khaled El Khouly, Chief Marketing Officer, Etisalat UAE, said: "In addition to a huge investment in infrastructure we are staying true to our commitment of providing customers with the best services and the best quality. Through the introduction of an impressive 44 attractive offerings, we have been able to give customers exceptional value for money while maintaining this high level of service." Among the many offerings introduced this year were the per second billing service for pre- and postpaid tariffs, and attractive bundles and packages offering customized solutions and further savings for customers. Etisalat also came up with several customized plans to cater to the increase in data consumption needs of customers – a direct result of UAE being ranked as the country with the highest smartphone penetration in the world. Etisalat's recently launched mobile data packages covered the whole spectrum of data customers -- those with high to low data requirements. An unlimited mobile data package for AED 999 and a 20GB data package (introduced for the first time for voice SIM users) were launched for users with high data requirements. For pre-paid Wasel customers, Etisalat introduced the Unlimited Daily Plan for AED 5 and the 100 MB monthly data plan for users with low data requirements. The 1GB and 5GB monthly plans provided more options to customers. In addition, Etisalat introduced the unlimited social data pack for AED 2 a day or AED 49 a month targeting smartphone users of the popular social networking applications BlackBerry Messenger, WhatsApp, Facebook, and Twitter. International calling prices were slashed, and the cost of calling several key destinations became as low as the cost of making a local call – enabling Etisalat customers to keep in touch with their family and friends and talk longer than ever before. During the second half of the year, Etisalat launched free calls within the UAE from local landlines and introduced a high definition voice service for e-life subscribers. E-Life TV has reached another milestone, offering the highest number of HD channels and the most extensive Video-On-Demand catalog in the region. Utilizing its extensive network of international roaming partners in 190 countries around the world, Etisalat has also managed to introduce heavily discounted voice and data roaming packages, as well as allowing its customers to use their phones abroad without the need for a subscription or deposit.
