Areca nut association established in South China


(MENAFN) Hainan Province in South China established an association of areca nut growers to ensure sustainable and healthy development of the industry Xinhua reported. The province has 90,000 hectares of areca palm plantation, with nearly 800,000 tons in annual output and a total value of USD800 million. The areca nut is Hainan's second largest tropical commercial crop, preceded by rubber.
