Law on Dubai government services fees issued


(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE, in his capacity as Ruler of Dubai, has issued Law No. (14) of 2013 amending some provisions of Law No. (14) of 2009 on the pricing of government services in Dubai. The new amended law aims to give more flexibility on the implementation of fees, the prices and tariffs for commodities and services provided by government agencies to individuals, companies and institutions on a commercial and competitive bases, as well as the implementation of the tariff of economic non-competitive commodities and services non-competitive, which these agencies exclusively provide. This amendment is driven by the variable nature rendered by these agencies based on commercial and economic bases they to relate to indicators of supply and demand, which requires reconsideration of tariff and of prices allocated to them permanently and continuously, and in accordance with the regulations and standards set forth in the guide of pricing of government services approved by the Department of Finance in Dubai. This amendment also helps to organise work at various government agencies in addition to the development of their income levels, and their effectiveness in achieving the sustainability of government finances.
