China to invest USD6.5 b in nuclear power project in Pakistan


(MENAFN) China has allocated USD6.5 billion for the construction of a major nuclear power project in Pakistan's port city of Karachi, according to the Daily Star. China aims to boost ties with Pakistan through the project. China National Nuclear Cooperation (CNNC) will grant a loan of at least USD6.5 billion to finance the project. The project will have two reactors with a capacity of 1,100 megawatts each, said CNNC.
