(MENAFN) US-based Oracle Corp said that intends to acquire web-based marketing software maker Responsys Inc. for USD1.39 billion, The Peninsula reported.
This bid comes an attempt to strengthen Oracle's cloud computing offerings as the company is focusing on cloud software to fight rivals that offer web-based products at prices that undercut Oracle.
FBR Capital Markets analyst said that the acquisition "further expands the company's cloud initiative, which remains a key ingredient to Oracle's recipe for success over the coming years."
