Kuwait - Gang Of Three Arrested For Smuggling 120 Kgs Of Drugs


(MENAFN- Arab Times) Two Kuwaiti citizens and an Arab expatriate were arrested in possession of 120 kgs of hashish. According to security sources, when the Directorate General for Drug Control (DGDC) received information about a gang of two Kuwaiti citizens and an Arab expatriate smuggling drugs through the sea, DGDC Director Brigadier Saleh Al-Ghannam formed a team for investigations. After confirming the tip-off, the team coordinated with the General Department for Coast Guard and managed to arrest the suspects on a boat, which contained 120 kgs of hashish. The officers also confiscated the hashish and the boat used for smuggling drugs. During interrogations, the suspects confessed that they were smuggling the hashish into the country for peddling. The suspects were referred to the concerned authorities for necessary legal action against them. The operation was carried out under the guidance of the Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Sheikh Mohammad Al-Khalid and supervision of the Undersecretary of the Interior Ministry Lt General Ghazi Al- Omar and Assistant Undersecretary for Criminal Security Affairs Major General Abdulhameed Al-Awadhi.
