Temperature dips after light rains across Oman more chill forecast


(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Several governorates witnessed light rains and a drop in temperature on Monday. Jebel Shams recorded the lowest at -3°C. With more rain forecast, the next couple of days may  be chilly. 

Bausher in Muscat governorate, Rustaq in South Batinah, Sohar and Shinas in North Batinah experienced rains. Wadi Sur in Ibri overflowed due to the rain, reports said.

The Directorate General of Meteorology and Air navigation, (DGMAN), in its forecast for Tuesday, said that clear to partly cloudy skies with chances of isolated rains were expected over governorates of Musandam, Buraimi, South and North Batinah, Dhahirah, Muscat, Dakhliyah, South and North Sharqiyah. Clear skies were forecast over rest of the country.

DGMAN said winds over Musandam and other coastal areas of Oman were expected to be northeasterly.

The sea may get rough with waves reaching a height of 3.5m. The maximum temperature recorded in Jebel Akhdar was 12°C and the minimum at -5° C.

Thumrait, Buraimi, Ibri, and Fahoud all recorded a minimum temperature of 12°C; their highest ranged between 23°C and 25°C.

The daytime high in Muscat was 24°C and minimum during night was 18°C.&nb
