Vietnam's GDP grows 5.42 percent in 2013


(MENAFN) The Vietnamese General Statistics Office (GSO) said that the economic growth in the country came at 5.42 percent this year, which is below the set target of 5.5 percent, Xinhua reported. The GSO said that the country's gross domestic product expanded by 4.76 percent in the year's first quarter, and by 5 percent in the second. In the third and fourth quarter, the GDP expanded by 5.54 percent and 6.04 percent respectively. The services sector accounted for 43.3 percent of total economy, while industry and construction accounted for 38.3 percent, and the agro-forestry-fishery accounted for 18.4 percent.
