Palestinian GDP Up, Per Capita Down in Q3, Says Statistics Bureau


(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) Preliminary estimates at constant prices showed an increase of 2.6 percent in GDP in Palestine during the third quarter of 2013 compared to the same period of last year, the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics (PCBS) said Sunday. The rise was 2.5% in West Bank to reach $1,288 million and 2.8% Gaza Strip to $465 million, reported the Palestinian new agency WAFA The results showed a decrease of 1.3 percent compared to the second quarter of this year GDP per capita for Palestine was $419 during the third quarter, a decrease of 0.4 percent compared to the third quarter 2012 It was $520 in the West Bank, a drop by 0.2 percent, while in the Gaza Strip stood at $272, a fall of 0.7 percent said the PCBS.
