(MENAFN - Arab News) Eastern Province Gov. Prince Saud bin Naif inaugurated the Zamil Higher Institute for Industrial Training here on Sunday. The institute would provide specialized training to the Saudi cadre to take up vital industrial jobs.

Accompanied by top officials, Prince Saud later toured the facility, including the air-conditioning and cooling workshops, control and precision workshop, welding workshop and classrooms.
Addressing the ceremony, Abdullah bin Mohammed Al-Zamil, CEO of the Zamil Industrial Investment Co., said the institute would train the national cadre to participate in the nation-building process.
He said the Zamil Training Center has trained 12,000 Saudis since it was established 20 years ago. Among them, 2,500 Saudis have been employed in various sectors of the company while the remaining 9,500 were deployed in the labor market.
"That center has been transformed into this institute to provide specialized training courses," he said while emphasizing the company's efforts to train Saudis by conducting advanced and high quality training programs approved by TVTC and Edexcel International of the UK.
The institute will provide special courses in TOEFL and IELTS. It will sign agreements with national companies to train their workers. "As part of its corporate social responsibility, the institute will train 200 Saudi university students annually," the CEO said.
Prince Saud and the participants watched a documentary on Saudi women working at the company's AC manufacturing plant.
