(MENAFN - Arab News) Several Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) have posted on social media sites some pictures and video footage of a dead body beneath a sedan.
The footage shows expats at a weekend spot in a state of shock following the death of a fellow national caused by another Filipino who was learning to drive a car.
According to the post, the incident happened in a popular park in Al-Hair district where Filipinos generally go on Fridays. The caption says that the car was driven by a Filipino who was learning how to drive inside the park.
An eyewitness, Aris Natividad, who also made a video footage of the incident, said that at around 3 p.m. on Dec. 20, a vehicle suddenly hit a man and crashed into the canal which irrigates the park.
Another witness, Neil Grajo, who usually frequents the park, said that it was a popular venue for Filipinos who had named it ashara-ashara for the SR10 amount paid for the entrance ticket for the park. Grajo said that the park is usually crowded on weekends when people come to relax and play games and some even use the place to practice driving.
The post, which first appeared on the Global OFW Voice, said that the name of the victim and the driver were being withheld pending notification of their next of kin.
