(MENAFN - Arab News) The Ministry of Education has tendered a project to provide security services for 30,000 schools for boys and girls at the beginning of the next school year following its official approval.
Security companies will be responsible for the protection of pupils and teachers in schools just like in other public and private organizations.
The project will provide security for 12,600 primary schools, 7,225 intermediate schools, 4,372 high schools, 392 subject-based schools, 1,696 private schools and 3,000 adult education schools in the Kingdom. The project will be implemented in big cities where schools have recorded repeated incidences of violence involving teachers and pupils.
Secretary General and general supervisor for administrative affairs in the ministry, Mohammad bin Saad Al-Shashari said the project has been finalized and is only awaiting final approval to start providing protection for the schools.
