US Economy Grows 4.1 Percent in Q3


(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) The US economy increased at an annual rate of 4.1 percent in the third quarter of this year, official data showed here Friday. In the second quarter, real GDP increased 2.5 percent. The Department of Commerce indicated that the increase in real GDP in the third quarter primarily reflected "positive contributions" from several sectors, including personal consumption expenditures (PCE) and nonresidential fixed investment which were larger than previously estimated. Also imports, which are a subtraction in the calculation of GDP, increased, the department said.
