(MENAFN - Arab News) A young Saudi man was shot dead by unknown men at his work place in Qatif on Thursday.

"This morning we received information that Safwa Public Hospital was treating a teenager for injuries caused by gunfire. The man later succumbed to the injuries," the Qatif police said. The police statement said the man was attacked by a number of people while he was working at a restaurant in Awamiya. "The man had given information about his killers before he breathed his last."

Meanwhile, an Arab expatriate in the Eastern Province came under intense fire from a gunman while he was inside his car.

He was traveling through Awamiya. "The expat was not injured in the shooting but his car was damaged," said Lt. Col. Ziyad Al-Ruqaity, spokesman of the Eastern Province police.
