(MENAFN - Arab News) The Ministry of Health has allocated SR17.59 million for procurement of medical equipment for Hail General Hospital.
The Directorate of Health Affairs in Hail has already started issuing directives to companies to import and supply the medical equipment in the coming weeks.
Hospital Director Dr. Mohammed Hamdan Al-Shammari said he had listed out the medical and non-medical requirements of the hospital and submitted the report to the directorate.
It was the directorate that invited the quotations and finalized the supply contracts.
The new machines are being purchased to improve the standard of service at the hospital.
Among the new devices being bought for the hospital in the current year are two artificial mobile breathing apparatus, five incubators and 15 cradles for new-born babies, devices to protect newborn babies, three dialysis units and two machines for anesthesia.
A refurbished section of the children's ward was also opened recently in addition to isolation and surgery wards for men. Work is under way for the expansion of the emergency rooms.
A 300-bed facility is currently under construction for the hospital at Al-Shifa Street in Hail.
