(MENAFN - Muscat Daily) The Centre Franco-Omanais (CFO) hosted a concert to commemorate the 50th death anniversary of French singers Edith Piaf and Charles Aznavour, at its headquarters on Tuesday.
The concert featured artistes Veronique Forget and Nyno Carnino who plan to hold more such shows in different countries as a tribute to the legendary singers.
Speaking to Muscat Daily, Veronique, said, "We are travelling with this show that we started in Dubai which is a tribute to Edith and Aznavour.
''The two used to sing together. Aznavour also wrote lyrics for Edith. Carnino and I sing songs by Aznavour and Edith at these shows. We also sing duets like they used to." Veronique added that this was their first performance in Oman.
''Our last concert was held in Cairo. After the show in Muscat, we will be performing in Abu Dhabi, Bahrain, Beirut and Qatar
''It is going to be quite a long tour because, we are very busy but we will try to finish the tour gradually as much as possible,'' she added.<
