(MENAFN - Qatar News Agency) Qatar Chemical and Petrochemical Marketing and Distribution Company (Muntajat) Q.J.S.C.

celebrated its first Qatar National Day at a company-organized event held here today at its headquarters

Muntajat employees and management gathered to recognize the day in the spirit of cherishing the strong traditions and unity of the country

Speaking at the company's gathering, Abdulrahman Ali Al Abdulla, Chief Executive Officer of Muntajat said: "I extend my warmest congratulations to HH the EmirSheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani Emir , HH the Father Emir Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa Al Thani , the Qatari government and HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Abdullah Bin Nasser Bin Khalifa Al-Thani, and all the honorable people of Qatar on this precious occasion

"Muntajat was established under the visionary leadership of HH the Father Emir Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa Al Thani, and under the guidance of the HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani, we continue to represent and promote Qatar on the international stage and aim to position our nation as a leader in the global chemical and petrochemical industry with the continuous support of HE Dr. Mohammed Bin Saleh Al-Sada, Minister of Energy and Industry and Chairman of Muntajat. And in line with the Qatar National Vision 2030, Muntajat aims to contribute to the diversification of Qatar's economy as it moves towards a knowledge-based economy." Muntajat's employees commemorated the special day by inscribing their wishes for Qatar on a dedicated board that will be kept as memorabilia to mark the company's first National Day

In less than a year since the start of its commercial operations in February 2013, Muntajat has managed to assume the marketing and distribution activities of around 90% of the chemicals, polymers and fertilisers produced in the State of Qatar

In addition to its operational achievements, Muntajat has been building its global presence through sponsorships, and active participations in exhibitions and meetings with customers at some of the chemical and petrochemical industry's leading events worldwide

In a short period of time, Muntajat has managed to build a global recognition in the industry

The company has recently been awarded the Downstream Company of the Year by "The Oil and Gas Year" for 2013

The award identified Muntajat as one of the most important developments Qatar's downstream sector has seen in decades and acknowledged its numerous achievements

"The Oil and Gas Year" award reflects on the company's vision to be the world leader in the marketing and distribution of chemicals, polymers and fertilisers industries by meeting customer needs in a responsible, reliable and efficient manner.
