(MENAFN - Khaleej Times) The 35-year-old Pakistani worker was allegedly spotted groping and inappropriately touching the Syrian girl by a student.
A gardener charged with molesting a 3-year-old girl has been cleared by the Court of First Instance.
The 35-year-old Pakistani worker was allegedly spotted groping and inappropriately touching the Syrian girl by a student in the Springs Community in Jebel Ali on August 14.
The defendant denied the charge in court and contended he did not know the area and had not been there.
The girl's father, a 39-year-old manager, told the prosecutor he found out about the incident from the student who lived next door. "The boy told me that he saw the accused molesting my girl and my son," he said, and shortly after, he reported it to the police.
The student, a 15-year-old Indian, said in the investigation that as he was playing basketball in a playground in the Springs 9 area, when he saw the accused nearby touching the girl's body, including her private parts.
A police officer in the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) said that he wrote down the testimony of the student. "From what he told us, we tracked down the company sponsoring the gardeners who work in the Springs area".
The police brought pictures of the workers and showed them to the student. The latter identified the accused in the pictures. He also confirmed it was him when he saw the accused among other suspects during an identity parade at the police station.
