Oman targets new areas of cooperation with Japan


(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) The Public Authority for Investment Promotion and Export Development (Paiped) chairman, Dr Salem al Ismaily, led Oman's delegation at the third Japan-Arab Economic Forum, held in Tokyo on December 16-17.

The forum aimed to strengthen bilateral ties between Japan and Arab nations and establish new trade and investment avenues in the areas of HR, energy and technology.

Dr Ismaily was joined by H E Hamood Sangour al Zadjali, executive president of the Central Bank of Oman, and Khalil al Khonji, chairman of the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Dr Ismaily said, ''The forum provides an opportunity to increase international awareness of Oman's exports and talent. It also offers us the potential to develop our existing relationships as well as explore new areas of cooperation, particularly in training and human resource development.''

The forum focused on knowledge and expertise-sharing that will help leverage the sultanate's ability to provide solutions that meet Japan's growing energy needs.
