Oman's first international travel and hospitality show begins


(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Oman's first International Travel and Hospitality Show (ITHS 2013) was inaugurated by Khalil bin Abdullah al Khonji, chairman of Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry at the Oman International Exhibition Centre on Sunday.

Organised by OITE Trade Fairs, the show will go on till December 17.

It is showcasing local and international travel and hospitality destinations like Saudi Arabia, UAE, UK, India, Thailand, Egypt, Philippines, Germany, Iran, Jordan, Sri Lanka and Turkey.

''The exhibition will benefit corporate and leisure travel managers, decision makers of the travel, tourism and hospitality sector, destination management companies, event planners, incentive planners, tourism development investors, travel enthusiasts, travel agents, travel trade members, trade publication or media and government representatives.

''Visitors and travel and hospitality enthusiasts are invited to set up ideal holiday plans for attractive destinations in the upcoming year,'' said Mitsu Ruparel, project manager, ITHS 2013.

Mitsu added, ''Oman's hospitality sets it apart from other countries in the Gulf.

''Known for its friendly people, Oman welcomes visitors from around the world to experience country's popular tourist attractions.''

Winners for the ‘ITHS 2013 Click and Win' photography competition were also announced after the inauguration.

The competition, was organised to celebrate the natural beauty of Oman and support local tourism.

The show will be held from 10am to 1pm and 4.30pm to 8.30pm.&nb
