(MENAFN- Arab Times) Officers from General Traffic Department (GTD) issued 37,599 citations against various traffic violations, seized 1,437 vehicles and motorbikes, arrested 135 violators of traffic rules, executed 49 service orders and dealt with 2,072 incidents during traffic campaigns that they launched in all six governorates throughout last week.
According to weekly statistics issued by the General Traffic Department, officers issued 5,712 traffic citations and seized 331 vehicles in Capital Governorate, while in Farwaniya Governorate they issued 6,670 traffic citations, seized 134 vehicles and arrested 49 traffic violators.
In Hawally Governorate, officers issued 7,057 citations, seized 93 vehicles and arrested 53 traffic violators while in Ahmadi, 3,200 violations were registered, 26 vehicles were seized and six individuals were arrested for violating traffic rules. In Mubarak Al-Kabeer Governorate, 184 citations were issued and 13 vehicles were seized while in Jahra, 2,887 citations were issued and 118 vehicles were seized.
Officers from the General Operations Unit issued 1,983 citations, seized 470 vehicles and 2 motorbikes, while the Special Duty team issued 7,500 citations for various violations, seized 250 vehicles and arrested 27 individuals. The traffic officers affiliated to the Task Force team issued 2013 citations and 393 technical examinations on vehicles.
