Egypt, KSA plan to build shared power grid


(MENAFN) A USD1.6 billion power grid to enable Egypt and Saudi Arabia to share electricity is being planned, Arabian Business reported. Egypt's electricity and energy ministry said that tenders for the project will be floated early 2014 and construction is set to commence in 2015. The ministry spokesman said: "Beginning 2014 the tenders for implementation will start to be launched... Actual implementation on the ground will not start before 2015."
