(MENAFN) South Korea's central bank froze policy rate at 2.5 percent ahead of the U.S. central bank's regular monetary policy meeting, Xinhua reported. Bank of Korea (BOK) Governor and six other monetary policy board members came to the decision to keep the benchmark seven- day repurchase rate at 2.5 percent this month. The rate freeze was expected because of uncertainties ahead of the Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) meeting.
