(MENAFN - Khaleej Times) Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, vice-chairman of the Dubai Supreme Council of Energy, has presented the 'State of the Energy Report: Dubai 2014' to the diplomatic missions of the member states of the United Nations, as part of the requirements to achieve the national initiative launched by His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.

The report provides key pointers on energy in Dubai and the most salient steps taken by the Emirate to secure energy to meet its requirements, while maintaining focus on green sustainable development. It was developed to highlight the successful steps that promoted Dubai's leading position and is an important milestones in its efforts to become a an ecological- and trade-friendly economy on a regional and international level. This is set to improve the outlook for the UAE Vision 2021 for the UAE to become one of the best countries of the world by 2021.

Al Tayer also signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Helen Clark, UNDP Administrator at the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) at the United Nations (UN) headquarters in New York to organise the UAE-led 2014 World Green Economy Summit (WGES) in association with the Dubai Green Economy Partnership, which will be held in Dubai on April 15-16 2014, in conjunction with the Water, Energy, Technology, and Environment Exhibition (Wetex 2014).
