(MENAFN Press) Dubai's fashion forward elite were out in full force at Emaar Boulevard this past Friday for the glittering opening of Fashion TV's first F Caf in the region. The grand opening was attended by famed Egyptian film star Ahmed El Sakka and Alona Fischbein, along with numerous renowned Arab fashion celebrities, as well as a number of VIPs and prominent figures.
The new home of fashion in Dubai officially opened its doors to great fanfare with a spectacular fashion show featuring the latest lines of renowned fashion designer Benj Uy. The sensational runway show included an array of the prominent designer's fabulous dresses and accessories for special occasions, as well as women's designs.
Silver screen star Ahmed El Sakka was delighted to be in the UAE and Dubai and to attend the opening of Fashion TV Caf “ the meeting point of haute couture, community celebrities and fashion lovers. He remarked: "The UAE has always been a leader in iconic projects and a hub for most celebrated brands, stars and celebrities. We as Egyptians and Arabs are proud of the amazing successes achieved by the UAE and congratulate Dubai for winning the bid to host Expo 2020." He stressed that Dubai always deserves the best, as it boasts a state-of-the-art infrastructure and awe-inspiring destinations and is a regular host of the world's most prestigious events in business, art, culture, and sports, stressing that this modern city is an ideal location for Fashion TV Caf.
During a conversation with the media about his upcoming films, El Sakka said that he is preparing to shoot the second part of the film 'Al Jazeera' with the star Khalid Al Saleh and a number of Egyptian stars.
Michel Adam, Founder and President of Fashion TV, attended the opening ceremony via Skype from the channel's headquarters in Paris. He expressed his heartfelt delight to finaly be in Dubai, which he described as a cosmopolitan city where all renowned international brands seek a foothold in. He commented that it has long been ambition to open a branch of Fashion TV Caf in Dubai and thanked Ahmed El Sakka and the guests for attending the opening ceremony.
Alona Fischbein, Fashion TV Director was impressed with the high level lifestyle in Dubai, where branded fashion products are a common sight all cross the city. She further remarked that Dubai's high-end lifestyle, with its abundance of luxurious hotels and resorts, beautiful beaches, attractive tourist attractions, and safety, is increasingly attracting movie stars and elite fashion designers.
Khaled Baydoun, Managing Partner of Fashion TV Caf remarked that the caf is a unique new addition to the city's line-up of luxurious cafs which brings new concepts to the industry - merging the world of high class fashion with that of modern hospitality. He stressed that they chose Dubai to be home to their first branch in the region due to the Emirate's elevated status in the fashion world and the multitude of boutiques of world's most distinguished brands that are already in place. He added: "We have established a base in Dubai that will be a starting point for opening more branches in the UAE and region in the near future."
The opening ceremony and fashion show attracted a huge crowd of media representatives and fashion lovers from across Dubai. Bright colours were dominant in the glamorous apparel on display, particularly the evening and cocktail dresses in brilliant whites, pinks, beiges, yellows and light greens, while floor length dresses in oranges, reds and purples were the trend for formal party wear. These bright colours were beautifully offset by a stunning array of evening dresses in traditional black in a range of lengths.
Chic and elegant accessories adorned the dresses, with leather belts, handbags and bags, colourful gemstone encrusted shoes, necklaces and earrings giving the designs a stylish, and finish vibrant, that glittered nonstop in the flashes of photographers' cameras. The show continued till midnight and attracted crowds of bystanders who watched the show from the outside square at the entrance of the caf.
