Japan's machinery orders up 0.6 percent in Oct.


(MENAFN) Core private-sector machinery orders in Japan went up by a seasonally adjusted 0.6 percent in October from the month before it, Xinhua reported. Orders in the month, excluding ships and utilities, logged the first increase in two months, hitting USD7.85 billion. Manufacturing orders registered the first drop in six months, decreasing 0.2 percent to USD3.25 billion. Non-manufacturing orders in October went up 11.5 percent to reach USD4.95 billion, following a seven percent drop recorded in September.
