US Congress agrees on budget deal


(MENAFN) Budget negotiators in the US made a deal avoiding another government shutdown in mid-January, Xinhua reported. The deal will set spending levels for the federal government for the following two years. Also, it will turn off part of the automatic spending cuts, or sequester, over the coming two years. Top lawmakers on budgetary issues in the country announced the deal at the Capitol Hill.
