US allocates USD60m for military mission in Central African Republic


(MENAFN) The US president allocated USD60 million in defense equipment and services for a military mission in Central African Republic, Xinhua reported. The President directed USD60 million in defense articles from the stocks of the Department of Defense and defense services of the Pentagon in a memorandum to the Secretary of State. The USD60 million are to be provided to France, the African Union, the Republic of the Congo, Chad, Cameroon, Gabon, Burundi, Uganda, Rwanda, and other countries that contribute forces to the African Union-led International Support Mission in the Central African Republic. French forces are assisting the international support mission in providing humanitarian assistance and establish an environment that supports a political transition to a democratically elected government in the Central African country.
