(MENAFN - Arab News) Abdullah Al-Mobty, president of the Council of Saudi Chambers of Commerce and Industry (CSCCI), lauded the organizers of the Private Sector Middle East Conference (PSMEC) on Tuesday, describing the event as a "tremendous success."
The conference, which concluded on Wednesday, witnessed the participation of 700 delegates from 24 countries.
Four key organizations - the CSCCI, International Monetary Fund (IMF), the International Finance Corporation (IFC) and the Saudi Ministry of Finance - joined hands to organize the global economic event, which is considered the first of its kind in the Middle East.
A number of other delegates, including IFC's Vice President Dimitris Tsitsiragos and IMF Deputy Managing Director Min Zhu, addressed the conference.
The speakers highlighted the role of private sector in Middle Eastern countries. Organizers said the preparations for the conference began around six months ago.
