(MENAFN - Muscat Daily) Oman Gas Co (OGC), which supplies natural gas to industries and public utilities in Oman, is planning a pipeline system to supply houses in the Muscat area with piped gas.
Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of the Gas Arabia Summit, H E Nasser al Jashmi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Oil and Gas, said, ''The plan is still being studied and we need to get approvals from the different authorities before we move forward.''
He said that residences will be supplied natural gas, which will replace LPG. ''Only certain parts of Muscat will be covered in the first stage,'' H E Jashmi added.
Speaking to Muscat Daily, Yousuf al Ojaili, chief executive officer of OGC, said that the piped gas plan is currently at an initial stage. Initial supply will only cover some parts of the city, which may gradually be expanded.
''We are trying to coordinate with Haya Water to target the services in areas that have not been covered by the sewage project,'' added Ojaili
