(MENAFN) The Middle East's IT market is expected to rank third in the world, following Latin America and Central and Eastern Europe, according to Gulf News.

Spending on IT market is expected to grow by 7.3 percent reaching USD32 billion in 2014 in the Middle East.

Jyoti Lalchandani, group vice-president and regional managing director for International Data Corporation (IDC) Middle East, Africa and Turkey, said: "The economic story is quite positive in the region with lot of investments in improving government services, education and healthcare services to be key drivers in the Gulf. All the Gulf countries are expected to show strong economic growth next year with Qatar predicted to show the highest GDP growth (5.3 per cent) and Bahrain the lowest (3.2 per cent)."
