(MENAFN) American Airlines and US Airways have finished their merger creating the biggest airline in the world, Xinhua reported.
American Airlines chief executive said: "This merger is great for consumers. It provides the ability for us to combine two airlines, put them together - they're highly complementary and to fly to even more places than either airline can independently."
The parties expect that the merger, following the exit of American Airlines' parent company from a bankruptcy filing, will save USD1 billion in synergies for both.
