American Airlines, US Airways complete their merger

(MENAFN) American Airlines and US Airways have finished their merger creating the biggest airline in the world, Xinhua reported. American Airlines chief executive said: "This merger is great for consumers. It provides the ability for us to combine two airlines, put them together - they're highly complementary and to fly to even more places than either airline can independently." The parties expect that the merger, following the exit of American Airlines' parent company from a bankruptcy filing, will save USD1 billion in synergies for both.
