Kuwait - Appeals Court Acquits Three Siblings In Drugs Case

(MENAFN- Arab Times) The Court of Appeals upheld the verdict of the Court of First Instance that acquitted three siblings of the charges of possessing hashish for consumption and trade. According to the case files, the arresting officer reported that he was patrolling Mangaf area at night when he noticed the second defendant driving his vehicle in a desert area. As he followed the vehicle, the driver stopped the vehicle at a point where the third defendant entered the vehicle. The officer immediately approached them and demanded them for their Civil IDs. When he sensed the disoriented state of the driver, he checked the vehicle to find a bag containing four rolls of hashish. After arresting them, he carried out investigations to discover the first and third defendants were the owners of the illicit items. The three suspects had denied the allegations during the court sessions in the presence of their counsel Lawyer Abdulmohsen Al-Qattan. Lawyer Al-Qattan requested the court to reject the appeal filed by the Public Prosecution against the ruling of the lower court.
