(MENAFN - Arab News) The Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) has barred Epissan Mohd. Ate Ter of Al-Yagoot Recruitment Office from hiring Filipino manpower for violating local laws for overseas employment.
In a statement, POEA Administrator Hans Leo Cacdac said: "Saudi Arabia-based Epissan Mohd. Ate Ter of Al-Yagoot Recruitment Office has been barred from recruiting Filipino manpower because it defaulted on contractual obligations and violated Philippine laws on overseas recruitment."
Eight other firms have been banned from recruiting Filipino manpower for the same reasons. They include Lae International Hospital Ltd., Al-Huda Engineering Works Co., First Kuwaiti Trading Corp., Al-Asmi Manpower Services, Around the World Services/Proactive HR Solutions, Hanjin Trading Co., Saweed Employment and Mal Lewis.
The POEA revoked the license of Amazon International Manpower Specialist Inc. for violation of rules and regulations governing the recruitment and employment of Filipinos.
Cacdac added that the case against Amazon stemmed from complaints filed by Arlyn Pasadas and Myrnalyn Saguid who said they were deployed by Amazon to Albania as cook and caregiver, respectively, with a salary of 500.
