(MENAFN - Muscat Daily) The third edition of The Home Show was declared open on Monday evening by H E Eng Saif bin Amur al Shaqsi, Undersecretary in the Ministry of Housing, at the Oman International Exhibition Centre (OIEC).
The three-day event which runs till Wednesday, has been organised by Global Exhibitions and Conferences (GEC), and is supported by Epoc Messe Frankfurt.
''The 2013 edition promises a fulfilling and rewarding experience to participants and visitors alike. With the world's leading brands and service providers taking part, we anticipate a significant increase in footfalls, commercial deals, business partnerships and agency agreements,'' said C J Paul, CEO, GEC.
''Attracted by the robust appeal of The Home Show, Portugal's leading housing products and services brand Associacao Home is showcasing an array of exciting offerings from 17 Portuguese companies.
''Italian companies and brands are also enjoying a major presence, drawn by the immense business opportunities afforded by the increasingly lucrative property development and home furnishing market in the sultanate. Leading paints manufacturer Berger Paints is raffling out two daily prizes that entitle winners to have their dream room painted with decorative ideas,'' he added.
The trade fair features a comprehensive mix of products and services encompassing all aspects of property development, real estate, home building, furnishing and home ownership space.
Approximately 90 leading companies from around the world are showcasing their latest offerings.
These include furniture and furnishings, bedroom and bathroom sets, kitchen systems and appliances, doors and windows, home appliances and electronics, wall and floor coverings, lighting and fixtures, and a selection for smart home solutions.
Also taking part in the show are service provides such as property consultants, interior designers, home dcor and improvement specialists as well as financial institutions offering home loans.
