(MENAFN - Muscat Daily) Tourism is a 'booming sector' and work is underway towards meeting targets to turn the sector into a prominent one in the sultanate, said H E Maitha bint Saif al Mahrouqi, Undersecretary in the Ministry of Tourism.
She was addressing the Lunch & Learn lecture series organised by The Achievement Centre at ibis Hotel on Sunday.
The lecture was organised to help the government sector share its expertise with the private sector.

Issa Saleh Ali Aufi, a young professional who works for Saraya Bandar Jissah, said, ''This is a good initiative and such talks help us in a great way. We also get to know the government's views on various issues. This is an important platform for us to exchange ideas and know each other better.''
The initiative aims to encourage women to participate in professional areas of work in a much more constructive way.
''We have organised quite a few sessions with experts in the government. There are many areas where government can guide and private sector can learn from the experience. Before this initiative, we had arranged talks with experts from the Ministry of Oil & Gas and Ministry of Transport and Communications.
