The Sharjah Police nabbed 107 illegal residents found flouting residency rules and conducting illegal activities in the emirate. Many of these illegals were living in abandoned or under-construction buildings.
According to a top official of the Investigation Department of the Sharjah Police, the arrested suspects were engaged in various illegal activities like begging. Some of the accused had absconded from their sponsors and were working illegally.
"We have found that most of the arrested suspects were staying in deserted buildings and under-construction buildings and were using them as a hub to commit various illegal activities," he said.
"We urge society members to play an active role and immediately report any illegal activity to the police. Residents should also never deal with illegals."
