With emerging markets playing an increasingly important economic role, one of the innovative ways they are creating even more influence is through science and technology parks. "TRC aligns research with national priorities, builds research capacity for the future, links academia with industry, develops international research collaboration, and identifies and removes research hurdles. It's through this activity, and in partnership with stakeholders, that TRC is helping secure Oman's place as a competitive and dynamic knowledge-based economy," commented Dr Al Khabouri.
The IASP-Asian Divisions Workshop will bring together entrepreneurs, academics, civil servants and business representatives to debate Science and Technology Parks (STPs).
The Workshop is expected to increase collaboration between various regional STPs, provide an insight into the challenges facing STPs worldwide, raise awareness and carry out prompt action in building and sustaining infrastructure in the long-term to attain efficient management of STPs at the regional level.
