(MENAFN - Muscat Daily) Malabar Gold & Diamonds, one of the largest jewellery retailers, sets an example for corporate philanthropy through various charity programmes in India, Middle East and Singapore. CSR activities are a fundamental part of Malabar Group's culture and the organization ensures that ten per cent of its net profit is used for CSR activities every year.
Celebrating the opening of its 104th outlet in Sohar, the group organised a free blood donation drive and medical camp in association with Sohar KMCC and Badr al Samaa Group of Hospitals. The blood donation programme drew good response from the public and more than 50 donors participated in the drive to support the cause. The medical camp and free consultations by doctors benefited by over 400 patients in need. General physicians, dermatologists, orthopaedics and ENT specialists were available at this camp and free medicines were provided to the needy. To mark this occasion, the jewellery group also distributed 15 wheelchairs.
