UAE based Indian entrepreneur honoured


(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) At the recently concluded World Waterpark Association, Annual Trade Show and Symposium, held at West Palm Beach, Florida, Santokh Singh Chawla, a veteran of the Water Park industry from India was honoured by the World Waterpark Association, with the Al Turner Memorial Commitment to Excellence Award 2013 for consistent business and professional excellence. Chawla is the first Indian to be so acknowledged on an international platform, by the World Waterpark Association, the apex body of the Water Park industry with over 1,000 members from over 40 countries. On the home front, Chawla has been the president of the Indian Association of Amusement Parks and Industries (IAAPI) for the last two years and has worked to take Indian Amusement Park Industry to global platform. Having established Fun N Food Village as a household name with two water parks in India and one in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, Santokh Chawla, promoted the Iceland water park in Ras Al Khaimah. Iceland Water Park is positioned as UAE's largest and the only park to be certified by TUV Nord to be in compliance with European Standards for safety and operations. The park has a design capacity to cater to 10,000 guests per day. Chawla' parks in India and Uzbekistan go by the brand of Fun N Food Village and the park in Chirchik, Tashkent as the Bolshoi Water Park. The parks employ 1200 regular employees besides additional staff for peak season employees.
