(MENAFN - Khaleej Times) The opening of the showroom also coincided with the launch of the Evora and Evora S models for the UAE. The showroom was inaugurated by Len Hunt, President, Al-Futtaim Automotive Group and Aslam Farikullah, Chief Operating Officer, Group Lotus plc.

The showroom offers customers a complete Lotus experience and is decorated in the British manufacturer's signature monochrome scheme and also features a Lotus Originals boutique.

Len Hunt said: "The brand is truly a global automotive icon and is special to be part of with its rich history, styling, innovation and advanced engineering. The UAE is a vibrant market with a number of young trend setters and we believe customers will appreciate the brand and what it stands for. We look forward to welcoming customers to the new showroom that is sure to set the benchmark for all Lotus showrooms across the UAE."

Commenting on the launch of the Lotus Evora, Hunt said: "The Evora is a car for serious drivers who enjoy the combination of performance and the open road. Launching any new entrant into the UAE's sports car segment requires a couple of pre-requisites; outstanding visual appeal and world-class ride and handling. The Lotus Evora delivers in every aspect. We are confident customers will enjoy the sheer thrill of driving this magnificent machine."

Farikullah said: "The UAE is an important and strategic market with great potential for Lotus. With Lotus Cars Middle East and Trading Enterprises, we will introduce customers in Dubai and the UAE to the world of Lotus, one of high performance, award winning cars with world-class ride and handling, and to our brand which is synonymous with motorsport and Formula 1 - both historically and today."
