According to latest statistics published by the Basra International Oil & Gas Conference & Exhibition 2013, Iraq's proven oil reserves are in the region of 143 billion barrels, the third largest in the world. Proven reserves are found in 79 fields (70 oil and 9 gasfields), of which only 23 are producing. Additionally, probable reserves are estimated to the order of 214 billion barrels. These figures on the oil and gas industry in Iraq demonstrate the huge opportunities available in this market for experienced providers like MiX Telematics.
